Morning Announcements

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club (FCA) will meet right after school on Wednesday, March 4 from 1-2 pm in the auditorium. This club is open to all FCMS students. If you would like to have fun and fellowship, please join us. Make sure you have a signed permission slip, as it is required in order to attend. Please see Coach Richardson or Coach Jill Benavides if you have any questions.

The National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring a pet supply drive through Thursday March 12. Any pet supplies are welcomed and appreciated. All donations with go to the St. Johns Pet Adoption Center. The homeroom with the most donations will receive fresh baked cookies as a reward.

6th graders who are interested in participating in the Florida 4-H Public Speaking contest, please see Ms. Sisson in 680 or let your ELA teacher know you would like more information. The school contest will be held after school on Tuesday, March 24 in room 680.

Both of our Flyers basketball teams came away with wins in last night’s finals against the Sebastian Eagles.

The girls earned a thrilling 33–28 victory, with all the 8th graders being named Players of the Game!

The boys closed out their season with a 37–24 win. Players of the Game were Nayan Nutanapati, Sam Batulla, and Andrew Simmons.

The Flyer boys and girls lost tough games last night to the Landrum Lions. Players of the game for the girls were Harper Tradd and Layla Squier. Players of the game for the boys were Tate Griffen and Carson Maslan. The teams are back in action for the season finale tomorrow night against Sebastian at home. The Flyer girls’ basketball team won a thrilling matchup against the Murray Bulldogs last night, 24–20! MVPs of the game: Ashini Yalmanchi and Ariana Totolos. The boys team followed with an exciting 43–40 win over Murray, with Tyler Anderson hitting the game-winning shot! This marks the first win over Murray since 2020. In response to this week’s heartbreaking news, we want to stand in solidarity with Patriot Oaks Academy. Our surrounding communities are encouraging all schools to wear red, white, and blue this Friday as a sign of support for POA. Please join us tomorrow by wearing red, white, and blue.

The Flyer girls’ basketball team fell to Gamble Rogers last night 32 to 23 leading scorers for the flyer girls were Aashini Yalamanchi and Grace Harper. The boys team pulled out a win vs Gamble rogers 44-31. Tyler Anderson led the team in scoring. The Flyers take on the Murray Bulldogs tomorrow at Murray.
