Morning Announcements

November 19, 2025

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club (FCA)will meet today after school from 1 pm to 2 pm in the auditorium. Please wear your FCA shirt as pictures will be taken for the yearbook. You must have signed permission slip is required to attend.

There will not be a B6 Meeting this week. Our next meeting will be on December 4h at 1:55-3:00. Please go to the Schoology group page to check for updates.

The National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring a toy drive through Friday, December 5. Students need to bring in any unwrapped toy to donate to the Toys 4 Tots organization. Toys will be collected by homerooms and the homeroom with the most toys will win fresh baked cookies. Let’s help make the holidays better for all children.

After school tutoring will be held in Mrs. Doemel’s room on Thursday November 20. In order to attend after school tutoring, you must bring work with you for the tutor to help you.

Boys open gym will be held today right after school. Girls and boys’basketball tryouts begin on December 1.

The Fruit Cove Middle School 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee winner is 6th grader Kevin Macieira. He will represent FCMS as the SJCSD District Spelling Bee on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.Second runners-up were 8th graders Nishal Chitteti, Alexandra Wolcott, Eira Puri and 6th grader Alvin Berrios. Congratulations to all the contestants! A special thanks to Debbie Dill, Cory Porter and Tee’ha Carroll for your help.

Thank you to all who participated in the Coins for a Cure week. We raised a total of $2327.61, which surpassed our goal by over $600. In 3rd place raising $143.28 is Ms. Johnson’s Art Class. In 2nd place raising $216.53 is Mr. Benavides. In 1st place and the winner of the doughnut party, raising $274.88 is Mr. Isabelle. Great job Flyers supporting the American Cancer Society.

The Flyer Girls and Boys teams are the 2025 County Champions. The Flyer Girls defeated the Pacetti Bay Wildcats in 3 sets, and the Boys defeated the Swiss Point Raiders in 3 sets, making this their 4th straight Championship in a row. Lead stat earners for the girls were: Brynn O’Dwyer, Avery Richardson, Brielle Brush, Malana Drummond, and Mah Tambi. Lead stat earners for the boys were: Jace Mayer, Ben Monteiro, Kiryl Hrudnitski, Yuri Dunaievski, Lakota Peacock, and Parker Jinks.

We want to thank everyone who came out to support our teams this season!

There is no after school tutoring today.

The Flyer Volleyball Teams will play in the Championship games this evening. The Flyer Girls will play the Pacetti Bay Wildcats at home at 5:30 pm. The Flyer Boys will play at Swiss Point this evening at 5:30. The theme for the Championship Matches is Spirit Night, so please wear your best Spirit wear. Tickets are $4.00 and can be purchased on SchoolPay via the link on the FCMS homepage. Please come out and support both teams as they compete for County Champions. Go Flyers!

The Card Game Club meets today after school in room 383 until 2:30. Join us for a fun card game with friends today. Be sure to have a signed permission slip and ride home arranged at 2:30.

There is a B6 meeting this afternoon in room 483 until 3:00 pm. All members are expected to attend.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club (FCA) will meet today after school from 1 pm to 2 pm in the MPR. The club is open to all FCMS students. Please join us for fun and fellowship with your peers. Please make sure to pick up a permission slip in room 570 to attend FCA meetings. See Coach Richardson in the gym or Coach Jill Benavides if you have any questions.

After school tutoring is cancelled this week.

The Flyer Girls and Boys had two-match sweeps in the Semi-finals. The Girls defeated Sebastian, and the Boys defeated Gamble Rogers. Lead stat earners for the girls were: Brynn O’Dwyer, Avery Richardson, Brielle Brush, and Samy Pallikkara. Lead stat earners for the boys were: Ben Monteiro, Jace Mayer, Lakota Peacock, and Parker Jinks.
