Morning Announcements

The Flyer boys and girls basketball teams fell to the Landrum Lions last night. Leading scorer for the girls was Ashini yalamanchi and leading scorer for the boys was Amari Isom. Both boys and girls are back in action Monday at Pacetti Bay

Attention students the Literacy Luncheon is cancelled for today. It will be rescheduled, but we do not have a date yet.

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES CLUB (FCA) will meet next Wednesday, February 4, right after school from 1 pm to 2 pm in the Auditorium. The club is open to all FCMS students Please be sure to have a signed permission slip as it is required to attend FCA meetings. See Coach Richardson in the gym or Coach Jill Benavides if you have any questions.

After school tutoring will be held in Ms. Farbo’s after school today.

As part of Celebrate Literacy Week in Florida, today a passage from a book or document will be read aloud. Each homeroom class will guess the name of the book or document and the name of the guest reader. The class that emails their guess to Ms. Jaeger first (after the passage is read) will win a cookie party.

Don’t forget to register in PBIS for the Literacy Week Book Club on Friday during lunch.

Our Flyer girls won 30 to 22 last night against the Murray bulldogs. Leading scorers were Ashini Yalmanchi and Emma Godfrey. They improve their record to 2 and 1 on the season. Our flyer boys lost a hard-fought game to Murray 41 to 38 The Leading scorer for the boy’s team was Amari Isom. The boys fall to 1 and 2 on the season. Both teams are back in action Thursday night on the road against the Landrum Lions.

The Flyer boys team picked up their first win of the season with a 44-28 win over Gamble Rogers. Leading scorers for the boys were Carson Maslan with 11 points and Tyler Anderson with 8 points Both teams are back in action next Tuesday night at home vs the Murray Bulldogs. The Flyer girls’ basketball team opened their season with an exciting victory over the Swiss Point Raiders 30-26. Lead scorers for the girls were Grace Tradd, Harper Tradd and Aashini Yalamanchi. The Flyer boys dropped a hard -fought battle to Swiss Point, falling 38-32. Lead scorers for the boys ere Tyler Anderson and Ethan Gardeen. The Flyers take on the Gamble Rogers Stingrays this evening at home. The girls’ games will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by the boys’ games at 6:30 PM. Attention students: Yearbooks are going fast—less than 100 left! If you want one, please check with your family to make sure they have ordered for you. Ordering information is in room 670.

There will be an NJHS all members meeting on Thursday January 15 after school in the cafeteria. Please wear your NJHS shirt as yearbook pictures will be taken. Be sure to have a ride home by 2:30.

The media center is closed through Thursday, January 15, including before school. Students may return books in the white bin outside the front doors.
