Applications for the Fruit Cove Middle School Chess Club are DUE this week. Please see Ms. Bass in Portable 8 for an application. Chess Club will have our first meeting on Tuesday, September 27th right after school in portable 8. A Complete application must be on file before the first meeting.

NJHS and WEB are sponsoring a sock drive. Socks are the number one requested item in homeless shelters. Please bring in any new or slightly used socks to your homeroom. The drive ends on Wednesday, September 28th. The top three homerooms to bring in the most pairs of socks will win a sweet treat reward.

Attention Students: Don’t forget about the Welcome Back Dance on September 30th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Wear your favorite team jersey or FCMS shirt. Tickets are $10.00 (includes 2 slices of pizza, drink and cookie. Tickets sales close on Sunday, September 25th at midnight. Don’t wait as you don’t want to miss this event.

Flyer Volleyball Teams had a big win last night over Sebastian Middle School with a two-set sweep for both teams.

Lead stat earners for the Girls Team include –

Kenzie Ferguson finished the match with 4 assists and 5 service aces, Bella Grosu had 4 service aces, and Emily Kime had three kills.

Lead Stat earners for the Boys Team include-

Mason Watts finished the match with 13 service aces, Brayden Carroll had 4 kills, and Hudson Williams and Nixon Anderson had 2 assists.

Please come out and support both teams as they face Swiss Point Middle School, next Tuesday at Swiss Point. Boys play at 5:30 and Girls play at 6:30.

Congratulations to Ellie Collette, EK Longmire and Brynn Jenkins from our girls xc team and Chase Petrick, Cameron Newkirk, Aaron Collette and Braden Scott from our boys xc team for medaling in the top 20 at the Bale and Trail XC meet Saturday! Both Boys and Girls teams won First Place! Well Done!!

The Florida Future Educators of America meeting is cancelled for Wednesday September 21st. Please stay tune for an updated meeting and time.

We are excited that tonight is our first home volleyball games. Here are a few reminders about our expectations for attending games:

· Tickets will not be sold at the door.

· All tickets must be purchased through SchoolPay. Ticket sales close at 3:00pm today.

· The girls’ game starts at 5:30 pm and the boys game starts at 6:30pm.

· Let your parents know to be at the school to pick you up at 7:30pm. DO NOT wait until the game is over to call your parents. Students not picked up directly after a game may not be allowed to attend the next game.

· Students may not leave the building during the games and then re-enter. Once you are inside you must stay until you plan to go home. Again…there will be no re-entry.

· We will have concessions available for purchase. Food or drink may not be brought into the gym. You must eat your snacks in the lobby before you enter the gym.

· We love when our students come out to cheer on our teams. Please be sure you are acting appropriately as the Student Code of Conduct will be followed.

· We encourage and expect good sportsmanship of all students both on and off the court.

· GO FLYERS!!
