September 11, 2025

Today is 9/11 Heroes’ Day, observed in Florida on September 11. Today we honor those who perished in the September 11, 2001 attacks, including 2,763 people at the World Trade Center in New York City, 189 people at the Pentagon in the Washington, D.C. area, and 44 people on United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania. We remember the sacrifice of the many emergency responders, military personnel, government employees, and civilians who responded to the terrorist attacks of September 11. We now ask for our school community to observe a moment of silence in honor of those lost.

Students in Civics classes today will be learning more about the events of September 11. We encourage all our students to learn more about the events of that day and those who demonstrated selfless heroism.

Letters of acceptance for new NJHS members will be distributed this week. These letters will be placed in your homeroom teacher’s mailbox and delivered by Friday.

All newly accepted members are required to attend a meeting on Thursday, September 18th, after school in the cafeteria. The meeting will last approximately 30 minutes.

Need a little extra help with your homework? The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) will be offering after-school tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday, starting the week of September 22nd.
