Vivek Kolli (6th grade), Nishal Chitteti 6th grade ) and Nikit Chitteti (8th grade) participated in National Chess Day Tournament in K-8 category held at MOSH on October 14, 2023, conducted by Scholastic Chess .Vivek Kolli won 4th place in K-8 section of individual standings in the tournament . Based on school pairings, Vivek Kolli, Nishal Chitteti and Nikit Chitteti, representing Fruit Cove Middle School, won 2nd place in the tournament. Congratulations to these young men for their outstanding achievement and for representing Fruit Cove Middle school’s Chess Club.
There is rehearsal for Singin’ in the Rain today and Thursday after school in Ms. Padgett’s room. This is for all onstage members. For all cast and crew, make sure you join the Schoology group for a full calendar of rehearsals.
B6 Club, NJHS, and WEB are sponsoring a canned food drive from November 1 through November 9. Please bring in any nonperishable food items for the collection. There will be a table set up in the main hallway where you can drop of your donations. Members of WEB and NJHS will be there to collect the items and record your donation for your homeroom. The homeroom with the most donations will receive a cookie treat from NJHS.
National Junior Honor Society is holding a Veteran’s Door decorating contest. The contest begins on November 1 and will run through November 9. All members of NJHS are required to participate in this event. Please go to the Schoology site and sign up for a door. Two members per door.
The Flyer Volleyball Teams will play Home against the Landrum Lions this Thursday, November 2nd. The theme for the night is Hawaiian attire, so come out with your best Hawaiian outfit and show support for the teams! Girls’ play at 5:30 and Boys’ play at 6:30. FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES CLUB (FCA) will meet this Wednesday, November 1st. The club is Open to all FCMS students. If you would like to have fun and fellowship with your peers, please come on out. We will meet after school in the weightroom from 1pm to 2pm. Please make sure you pick-up a permission slip in the gym as you must have a permission slip on file to attend.
