November 29, 2021

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club is getting started at FCMS.  Our first informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 30 in Portable 3.  Grab a friend and come find out what FCA is all about.  If you have any questions, see Ms. Phillips in Portable 3 or Coach Richardson in the Gym.

Attention Science fair winners: Your science teachers have been given a website and directions for completing your paperwork for the next competition.  Please see them as soon as possible.  All paperwork must be sent in to the be checked before December 15th.

Have you ever wanted to try track to see if it is a good fit for you? Join us Nov 30th and Dec 2nd for a Track Clinic and then join us on the track on  Dec 4th. See Mrs. Benavides Rm 715 for more information and participation forms.

The FCMS writing club meeting has been postponed.

Attention Drama Club:  There is no rehearsal this week. Tuesday’s rehearsal has been rescheduled for next Tuesday.  Please make sure to check the calendar for rehearsals.  The next full cast meeting is next Thursday December 2nd from 2:00 – 3:30.

Just a reminder that girls basketball tryouts begin the week of Nov. 29th.

Thank you to all who donated coins for the annual Coins for a Cure Fundraiser, which was held during Red Ribbon and Spirit Week. We raised a total of $2722.72 for the American Cancer Society! THAT IS MORE THAN $1000 ABOVE LAST YEAR!  The top three homerooms…

In 3rd place – Ms. Doemel – $238.21

In 2nd place– Ms. Reichard – $246.84

And the winner , raising the most donations of any class for the American Cancer Society… – Ms. Mary Sullivan – $298.30

Basketball Tryouts are as follows:

Basketball tryouts after school  for 2 hours:

  • Thursday, Nov. 18  Boys 6 & 7 (only 6th graders who made the calls backs and all 7th graders who turned in the form).
  • Friday, Nov. 19 boys  8th  (Call backs for 6 & 7).
  • Monday Nov. 29 6th grade girls.
  • Tuesday Nov. 30 7th grade girls.
  • Wednesday Dec.  1 8th grade girls.

NJHS officers meeting will be today, after school.  Please meet in Mrs. Doemel’s room.

There will be an NJHS all members meeting on Tuesday, November 16.  It will be held virtually on Zoom and begins at 2:30.

All members must attend – this is mandatory.

Just a reminder. Boys tryouts begin the week of Nov. 15 and girls tryouts begin the week of Nov 29.

Congratulations to our winner of the Fruit Cove Middle School Spelling Bee, Julian Cortez.  He will be representing our school at the St. Johns County Spelling Bee next month.  Way to go Julian!
