State Testing 2017

Information for Parents of Virtual and Home School Students

If you are the parent or guardian of a student who is zoned for Fruit Cove Middle School and is enrolled in St. Johns Virtual, Florida Virtual, or a Home School Program please read the information below regarding State Testing.

  • Click the link: FILL OUT FORM to register your student to take a State Assessment at Fruit Cove Middle School
  • Please be sure to register your student at least two weeks in advance for each assessment
  • The student must be registered separately for each assessment they plan to take at Fruit Cove Middle

  • Students are required to complete a practice test prior to taking each State Assessment (With the exception of the Science FCAT)
  • Students can complete the practice tests by following these steps:
    1. Go to
    2. Click “Practice Tests”
    3. Click “Take the Computer-Based Practice Tests”
      • **Writing for Grades 6 and 7 are Paper Based – For these assessments, click “Paper-Based Practice Test Materials”
      • **Students should bring the completed paper practice test with them when they check in on test day
    4. For Computer Based Tests, Sign in as “guest”
    5. Select your grade level and continue as “guest”
    6. Select your Assessment and follow the on screen instructions
    7. At the end of the Practice Test, print the screen that states, “Practice Test Completed.”
    8. The student will be asked to present this printout when they show up on the day of the assessment
  • Students can also take the practice test at Fruit Cove Middle School on the following days
    • February 14th at 9:00am: Only FSA Writing Grades 6, 7, and 8 (This will take about 30 minutes)
    • March 28th at 9am: Practice Tests for all State Assessments. If students have multiple assessments to practice, we will administer them back to back (Each practice takes from 20 to 30 minutes)

      • Civics EOC
      • Algebra EOC
      • Algebra II EOC
      • Geometry EOC
    • There is no need to pre-register for a practice session

  • On the actual day of the assessment, have your student check in at the front desk of the school by 7:40am (Allow extra time for morning parent drop-off traffic)
  • The Assessment Dates for each grade level and subject are as follows (For 2 day assessments, students must test both days)


  • The FSA Writing Assessment is administered on one day in one 120 minute session
  • The FSA Reading and Math Assessments are administered over 2 days
  • The Algebra, Algebra II, and Geometry EOCs are administered over 2 days
  • The Civics EOC is administered in 1 day
