Make Your Mom Proud!
March 18 – April 23
WEB is working with 2 Men and a Truck to host a supply drive for women in need. We are collecting shampoo, soap, baby food, diapers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks for women and children, lotion, feminine hygiene, new XL twin sheets, and non-perishable food. These items will be delivered to women in local shelters on Mother’s Day. Local shelters receiving the packages include: The Betty Griffin House, The Hubbard House and The Quigley House. Students may bring donations to their first period class. Thank you for your consideration and kindness. Let’s color the world with kindness this Mother’s Day!
8th Grade GradTastic Field Trip
Friday, May 17 Depart FCMS during 6th Period around 12:45pm for SeaWorld Orlando. Arrive back to Publix off Race Track Road on Saturday, May 18 around 2:15am.
Students attending the trip must be in school the day of the trip and wearing their GradTastic T-Shirt. The students will leave their backpacks home the day of the trip. They may bring a drawstring bag to carry water & snacks, devices, chargers, etc on the charter bus; however, we cannot take responsibility for these devices if they are lost and/or stolen. They may leave items on the locked bus during their time at the park. Only fanny packs allowed in SeaWorld. Drawstring bags will NOT be allowed in SeaWorld (their rules).

The National Junior Honor Society is providing tutoring and homework help on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. The sessions will end at 2:40, so make sure to arrange for your child’s transportation home. Tuesdays the tutoring will be in Mrs. Doemel’s room and on Thursdays in Ms. Farbo’s room. If tutoring is cancelled for any reason, an announcement will be made and teachers will be notified by email.

Early checkout If you need to take your student out of school early, the latest time that he/she can be picked up is at 1:20PM (12:20PM on Wednesdays). If you come after that time, you will need to wait until dismissal at 1:50PM (12:50PM on Wednesdays) to get your student.

Let’s GLOW! The FCMS PTO is sponsoring the final dance of the season after school on Friday, April 26 from 2-4pm. Tickets are $10 and include a slice of pizza, chips, and bottled water. There will be a DJ, photo booth and games. Additional candy and Gatorade will be available for purchase (small bills appreciated). Students can color the world in kindness (our school motto this year) by wearing their BRIGHTEST attire to school that day!

ATTENDANCE
If a student is unable to attend school, upon returning, the parent/guardian must complete an online attendance form, BELOW, or submit a note within 48 hours stating the date of the absence, the specific reason for the absence, and have the parent/guardian’s signature. Emails and phone calls are not accepted as notification of absence.

School Access
This is just a reminder that anyone (parent, guardian, friend, neighbor, aunt, uncle) must have school access to attend an event at Fruit Cove Middle School, have lunch with a student and/or attend an awards assembly. If you have not already done so, please complete the School Access Form. The process for approval may take up to 4 weeks, so please fill out the application sooner than later for any guests that would like to have school access. Once the application is approved, school access will be valid for three years.
FortifyFL App
FortifyFL is a website and app developed at the direction of the Florida Legislature. Any student, educator, parent or member of the public can report school safety concerns directly to law enforcement and school administrators anonymously and easily through the FortifyFL app or getfortifyfl.com.
